Long overdue update.... :)

Well hello!

I know it has been a long time.. long overdue for an update. Life happened and it was hard to adjust to everything that was going on. But, we managed to get through it together as a team and are better then ever!

So, that being said... we have successfully been living in Hanke for 241 days.. WOW when you put it in "days" it seems so long... however it doesn't seem that long! spent some really hot nights and also some cold nights... but overall it has been AMAZING!

We have traveled quite a bit... in the last "241 days" we have gone to Minnesota, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado (several times), Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, California, as well as drove through Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri...nothing wrong with those states just not for us.. LOL Along with a surprise trip to Mexico (nope didn't take Hanke with us)... that was almost a total FLOP and got very sick :(

As of the beginning of 2017 there have been many changes... changes that we were excited for as well as anxious over the unknown. We have worked it out that we only need to be back in our home state of Wisconsin 1 week a month and that is so we can work at office (thank you to a great team) as well as see kids and grand baby.

We left on January 16th for the first trip of our new lifestyle... Mother nature was not playing nice in the sandbox! There was bad weather all over the country... but despite that we decided lets go to the west coast.. and wouldn't you know it they get record breaking rain fall! OF COURSE! But we made the most of it and hiked A LOT! We hiked in Phoenix, San Diego, Malibu, Monterey, Venice Beach, and Big Sur which we loved it so much... seeing the different scenery was amazing! From the view on the summit on Camelback Mountain to the sunset over the ocean and everything in between. I have more pictures posted on our Facebook page.

We thought we were all set to travel and enjoy life until Hugi's heart started to act up and he was having several VTach issues. We came back to Wisconsin as scheduled and then went to the DR and she advised to NOT drive or hike... SO that being said everything that we loved doing and the new life that we had planned was put on hold as we sit in limbo.. But we were supposed to go to Colorado and start training for our hike and just disconnect for a few days. But against the judgement of the DR we left anyways.... but didn't last long drove 24 hour to stay in Colorado for 27 hours. My mother got admitted to hospital also! So between both the two of them I was a nervous ball of stress. My mom was discharged and then Hugi had to go in for an ablation.. he is since doing well!

I will do my best to update regularly! Our next trip will begin on April 16th... not sure if it will be to the East Coast or Colorado...
