When it rains it pours! 🌧

We were so excited to get up this morning, spend some time with our daughter Sam and also work on our Colorado Trail thru-hike preparation... as the days are ticking. 1 month and 12 days!! YIKE!

So back to the story...

See we have been having random leak problems with our ceiling in Hanke (our van). As we lay in bed listening to the rumbling storm happening outside we were hoping that when we stepped foot on the floor that we would NOT find any water puddles.... I roll over and set my feet on my pottoman (ottoman with my portable bathroom in it) and low and behold WATER and LOTS of it! Splashed again the cabinet, on my Pottoman, running across the floor and that wasn't all.... puddles behind captains chairs! OMG! I was about to come in glued!

We found 3 different leaks!!!! UGH I said Hanke you are about to be traded in!

So scratch the day with our daughter, called her and let her know we had to rush back to garage! The rain was not supposed to let up all day... this past year Mother Nature has NOT played nice in the sand box!!! So we strap everything down and make a quick stop off to see my mom.. (more on that in another post) and then come back to our home base/garage. We start by emptying everything out, take mattress out and then start pulling the ceiling boards off. Remove some insulation and man it is soaked! We are not sure what caused the screws holding he solar panels to shift but they did.

Went to our locals Menards and bought some stuff that would fix it right up. Also noticed a leak coming from the MaxxAir Fan... we checked that out and some of the caulk on the outside had cracked!!! So we Flex-Sealed that also!

We were able to get it all re-insulated, waited for it to dry and then put it all back together! One good thing about this is we added some extra lighting that we have been wanting too!!! Lol

As we were making this very big mess I kept thinking.... I just spent 8 hours the other day cleaning every nuk and cranny! Man! When it rains it pours! Give me a beer!
